BPJS Ketenagakerjaan covers four programmes: work accident (JKK), death (JKM), old-age savings (JHT) and pension (JP). Some member companies were recently called in by labour inspectors over missed contributions, so the secretariat has summarised the common pitfalls.
- Foreign employees working in Indonesia for 6 months or more must be enrolled in JKK and JKM, and JHT is recommended;
- Contributions are based on monthly wages and are due by the 15th of the following month; late payment incurs a monthly penalty;
- When an employee resigns or a contract ends, deregister them promptly so that contributions stop accruing.
If you have questions about contribution bases or foreign employee enrolment, ask in the Q&A forum or book a consultation with the secretariat.
